: : I just read an interesting article on rent control at
: : http://www.cato.org/pubs/pas/pa-274.html

: For those that don't know, the Cato Org is a super right-wing group that
: creates minds like Timothy McVeigh and probably would advocate a g un rack
: in the back of every Dodge pick-up. William Tucker, who wrote the piece,
: has long had a problem with anything middle-of-the-road. If your troll was
: meant to pick a fight, forget it and I suggest you take it to Usenet.

Chill out ma n. I wasn't saying I agreed with the article, but it did contain some interesting stats. It showed that rent control tenants pay much less than everyone else. Isn't that the idea???

The "everyone else" is the rich guy. They SHOULD pay more. And ric h people make excellent neighbors. Who's going to deny that the Upper West Side is not a better place to live than 30 years ago. Even the Lower East Side is being gentrified now. Who would possibly oppose this???
