: Does anyone have any first-hand knowledge of what happened at the city council public hearings yesterday? Was it a large turnout? Did it seem that the city council was speaking pro-tenants or vice versa?
: The media seemed to show a pro-tenant spin, ie, people crying over possibly not being able to afford to remain in their homes.
: I'd appreciate any info! Thanks...Debra
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend but I did hear a report about it on Housing Notebook. There was a fairly large turnout and not everyone was able to get in. By the time it got to tenants and tenant advocates speaking, most of the city council member who were there had left. At one point Archie Spigner was the only one listening and he is anti-tenant. At least some of the news stations showed footage of tenants speaking.
