It's the second time this has happened
Since we have a fireplace, we checked with tenants above and below us
to eliminate this possibility on the first occurrence.
Then, the maintenance crew replaced some wires in the heater.
Today we got it again: the whole apartment was filled with thick, acrid
smoke; we got the kids out and called the office. The maintenance crew
is completely inept ! After helping this guy spot that some of the ducting
had been burned away, I asked him how this could happen.
He said "Hey, why do aeroplanes fly ? these things happen"
This time I am going to insist that CERTIFIED people check out my wiring
and heating system ! I am not going to chance our lives on these
people's wild guesses. Anyone had similar experiences ??
