I attended the rally at the New York Sheraton Hotel on Thursday December
5th. I was heartened to see the spirited turnout. It became clear to
me that the State Senator Majority Leader Bruno will be satisfied with
nothing less than eliminating all rent protections for New York City.
The landlords who supported him with big bucks want a return on their money.
All they see is a chance to raise rental income. If they have to evict
rent stablilized and rent control tenants, so be it. All they see
is money. They have no respect for us as people who make homes in the
apartments we rent.

I have lived in my apartment for 25 years. They want me out.
My kids have live their whole lives here. We are community people. We have
contributed to the quality of life in our neighborhood. This doesn't matter
to the monied landlords.

Hundreds of greedy landlords want to evict hundreds of thousands of tenants
to make more money. We must get active. Get informed and get involved
we must defend our homes!
