Do a search for sublet and succession on the web site. Even if your wife
is not on the lease, she has a right to be and the rights that accrue to
you as a tenant also accrue to her (even if the owner won't recognize it).
As for succession, family members are allowed succession rights in certain
cases. It's on the web site.
