First- Did the personal wait for a disposition? I went to court with an assumed landlord and requested to see the proof of ownership. The lawyer for the landlord didn't have proof on hand, so a trial date was set. I made some calls and later found out the builing in which I live in was sold to this person, but the bulding was not registered (can't be registered) with HPD and DHCR. I'm currently waiting the court date to request the non-payment proceeding be dismissed.

This site has a great guide for tenants with housing problems, get it ahead of time, it help me.
