Can I refuse installation water-saving toilets?

Posted by Dottie on October 25, 1996 at 09:15:22:

There is a notice in my lobby that water-saving toilets will be installed next week. I know many people who have them and dislike them very much. I know they are ecologically correct but I hear that the landlords are doing this becaue they get a rebate from the city, not to save the environ- ment. Also, it saves their water bills. Someone suggested to me that I could refuse to have one installed since I'm afraid they're going to mess up my bathroom and I'm very happy with the toilet I have. Is it legal for me to refuse? What would be the consequences? Many thanks.
