I forgot to mention that I live in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York.

: I have lived in a 2-family house for over 6 years.
: The first year was covered by a lease, thereafter the landlord said he'd give a lease, said I could stay for as long as I wanted, hoped I would stay for years.

: The landlord entered my apartment without knocking, phoning or any notice came up to my bedroom and tried to enter, I was in the shower and always keep the bedroom door locked. Thank goodness.
: When I came out he said he came to look if there were termites and then said Regina, his girlfriend had to something to give me. It was a 30-day notice saying that I am hereby notified that I am a 30-day tenant.

: I called the landlord up at work and asked him to be a human being and give me until September to move out.
: He said a whole bunch about his legal rights and he's going to kick me out.

: Do I have any rights. The 30-days has passed, it ended June 1.

:
: I don't know if this is necessary but this is the environment of the problem:

: My landlord has entered the apartment frequently without notice, I have given him written and verbal requests in the past to give me 24-hours notice.
: This started 2 1/2 years ago when my boyfriend moved out. My landlord was waiting in my apartment in the dark when I came home. He kissed me on the cheek and said we are all alone now.
: I told him I was going upstairs, he followed me and stayed in my bathroom and bedroom for several hours. I locked myself in another room.

: Just recently, I was home, the landlord tried to enter downstairs (I changed the cylinder on the inside door) then he came up on the second floor and knocked, he said he wanted a latter, his girlfriend was outside my door saying you should just kick her out.

: Sounds like my landlord is angry at me but for 6-years I asked him to take care of windows and floor cracks that were allowing mice and carpenter bees in the bedroom. This bedroom is uninhabitable because of the windows during the winter and summer.
: When he kept ignoring me I said I would then have to file a complaint.

: I had been asking him for a lease every month this year and was looking to move when my job allowed.

: I just got through selling off my things last week and will again have a sale next week. But it is incredibly hard to find an apartment in the summer.

: I am on the waiting list at Gateway Plaza and hope that I will have time for them to get to my name.
