The DHCR requires landlords to attach a Rent Stabilization Lease Rider to all leases of rent stabilized apartments. Of course, landlords do not always comply with this. The best thing to do, if you've already signed a lease, is to check with the DHCR directly. If you haven't yet signed the lease, ask your landlord what the rental status of the apartment is.
