Security Depost

Posted by Liz on August 01, 1996 at 22:52:23:

We are also having a problem getting back our security deposit from our landlord in the Bronx, Pasquale Rocchio.
He has made accusations of damages on the apartment which never existed. He is also claiming routine maintentance is our financial resposibility.
We requested an itemized list of the damages to the apartment, including receipts. We received the list on his attorney's letter head (as if that
frighten us). The receipts are yet to be seen. Is there any law which requires the landlord to walk-through the apartment with the tenant at the
termination of residency to assess damages? We have contacted the Attorney General's office in NYC to file a complaint.
