i'm afraid the LL has got you, possibly for the suration of the lease. you signed a contract that stated you would pay for the whole year, and he's cashing in on it. sounds to me like the broker was using the "say-anything-to-get-them-to-sign" method of brokering. unfortunately, the LL isn't legally bound to occupy that space, under your lease or ever, if he so chooses. have you spoken to him about a sublease situation?
