Many coops do allow dogs. I can think of several offhand. Some require that the dog be "interviewed" by the coop board to make sure it isn't viscious. Others have rules that aim to keep peace between the pet-owning and non pet-owning population, such as requiring that pets be kept on a leash at all times or only ride in certain elevators. In short, you need to keep looking - there are coops and condos that meet your needs.

: We decided to buy a co-op apartment in Brooklyn, but it looks like no co-op allow dogs. We have a medium breed dog and I do not want to sneak him out, I want him legally live with us. Do you know is there any way we can convince board to approve us even with the dog????
