Your friend would probably do better to research which high school she wants her daughter to attend, and then find an apartment within that area. Some high schools are zoned locally and some are city wide. There are a good number of special programs and schools that require individual applications ands ometimes special tests.

: I have a friend looking to move into the city. She has a daughter that will be starting high school at the beginning of the next school year. They are looking into a few different nabes in NYC, but they also want to take into account what schools are zoned for what nabes. In other words, if they move to Chelsea for e.g., they want to know what are the schools that would be available for her to choose from? We can't find this info anywhere on the web. Any ideas?

: Thanks!
