I currently reside in Brooklyn, New York and last year I took my ex landlord to court for allowing gangs to sell drugs in the buliding. I withheld my rent and lost the case, lack of evidence. It's hard to take pictures of drug transactions and to get tenants to testify unless you work for the DEA. So I was evicted & my paycheck was garnished for several months, its know p.i.f and I am know pursuing him in small claims court for my deposit and he is countersuing for the money which he has been paid. I supposed it,s to scare me . However my question is can I receive my deposit back if I have been evicted? My court case is coming up in two weeks do I have a chance.
