tenants right to sublease

Posted by zhennyas on January 27, 2002 at 18:56:35:

My landlord's lawyer has sent me a letter stating that my sublet is illegal because I failed to provide a bona fide reason for subletting. My reason is related to 9/11 as I work on Wall STreet and was very effected by the events and needed to get away for a short time. How can this not be a bona fide reason? Any assistance will be appreciated
