It's actually Section 27-2075(c) of the Housing Maintenance Code and you can find it under Resources at the Rent Guidelines Board (RGB) website -- NO SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER REQUIRED:

: I can't find it anywhere......has something to do with renewal leases of rent stabilized apartments......and landlord asking info on people living in apartments......i have a standard form from a landlord stating it has the right to ask for info pursuant to administrative code cited above...the landlord asked for social security number, which i think violates federal law, anybody know about this practice?????, i'd be interested in hearing from tenants who have been told that they must provide their social security number as a condition to renew their rent stabilized lease, i'd consider taking such a case and suing the landlord in federal court to stop this nonsense... thanks
