Rights as a roommate

Posted by Denise on January 14, 2002 at 19:47:36:

I currently live in a roommate situation in a sublet in a rent stabilized/controlled (not sure which)apartment in NYC. My roommate is the only one on the sublet lease. I live there and pay half the rent/utilites but I am not on the lease. My name is on the mailbox and I do get my mail there.
I am having problems with my roommate and am worried that she might one day just tell me to leave. Can she do this? Do I have any rights?
