Legal Seminar Offered To Landords, Tenants Affected By WTC Attacks

JANUARY 11TH, 2002

Tenants and landlords affected by the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center can get legal consultation at a seminar in Manhattan this weekend.

Attendees can get one-on-one help from lawyers Saturday at Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Manhattan. Manhattan Borough President C. Virginia Fields and Civil Court Judge Fern Fisher-Brandveen set up the event to let people know what their rights are.

"You can't have access to justice without information, and Chief Judge Judith Kaye, her number one goal is making sure that New Yorker's have access to justice. With information you have better access to justice, so the idea is to get the information out - legal information and legal resource information - that's what our goal is," Justice Fisher-Brandveen said Thursday.

The event is being held Saturday at Martin Luther King Jr. High School on Amsterdam Avenue at 66th Street. For more information you can call 212-374-4504.
