The only way is for you sister to contact the landlord and prove she is coming back to NYC to live it that apartment.

She will have to come back anyway to fight the evcition if not, she will lose by default in court and a marshall will toss you out say in a month or so.

Your sister has a right to temporailly stay in canada, but now she has to prove its temporary.

: My sister has been renting a studio in Manhattan that is under rent stabilized and has decided to partially move to canada. i moved into the studio and the lanlord just sent an eviction notice saying that I am not a lawful occupant and that I have to move out in 10 days. any ideas?
