NO. Forget about your case. Brokers can and do say anything to make the deal. Anything to do with a lease of real estate (for a term of 1 year or more) has to be in writing in order to be enforceable. There are companies that install what's known as a pressure wall. It stays in place by springs at the top and bottom. I wouldn't lean on it though.
