: pls someone input needed. my building is a coop but has rentals as it was non-eviction (rent controlled and regulated) - they now have two different managing agents. one for renters, one for shareholders, - can they legally do this??? i read somewhere they cannot. the building has been coop for about 16 years. thanks!

totally illegal. must have same manager for all units.

complaints go to the Attorney General, Real Estate Financing Division.

there's a book online: http://www.oag.state.ny.us/
