Leaving in a 8 apt building in a garden complex in Middletown, NY. I have lived here going on my 7th lease. I have always been told to give enough time to let then know we are moving and should be able to get the security back. However the complex was sold, and now I dont know what to do.The person who new we were looking for another bigger place to live I hear was fired. They have a month and half of my security. How much time do I need to allow to tell them we are moving, I also have been told there is a waiting list so do they have the right to withhold any monies for rent or to charge for painting and cleanup? Thank you
