Richard gives good advice with attitude - why harrass him.

Richard's "advice" is rather gadfly. But is is on the mark at least as often as any other participant here. As other have expressed, a forum like this exists to allow participants to give and receive advice from a variety of viewpoints. Usually there is no one "correct" way to resolve something, but different users can point out various ways of dealing with a situation. Also, a quick read of the questions posted here often shows a rather jarring lack of intelligence on the part of those asking. Richard provides a needed "wake up call" to those people.

Ultimately, if you disagree with someone, you can just ignore the person or post your own opinion. Calling on Tenant Net to censor users you don't like goes against the spirit of this board.

: First, ignore "Mike" -- that's Richard. Second, we have deleted his messages more than you know, but when we're tied up with other things, this isn't the highest priority. But you aren't the only regular user who has complained about Richard. We could easily ban him by banning his IP address, but this would also ban anyone using the same ISP, so that's not the solution. We are considering going to a different forum software (known as Ultimate Bulletin Board or one of its clones) that would require users to establish accounts with real email addresses known to us, but we just haven't got around to it -- and if we do this, it's not just in reaction to the Richard problem. We've been looking at this for quite some time. It has several advantages, but also some disadvantages. But as for Richard, please email us directly at tenant -at- tenant.net because we'll need you to help us with this.

: : Richard now seems to be giving his usual strange advice under the name "mae" -- a new name AND a new gender.
: : At the very least, could you delete his messages?
