If you are in a private home under no regulations, then this could be considered constructive evcition, the landlord has made it impossible for you to pay the rent, so effectively the lease has been terminated by the landlord, you could write a letter giving your 30 day notice, and expect your security deposit to be put toward decembers rent.

If you are stabilized, you have a legal right to get a roomate.
