Hopefully you notified the LL in writing about the floor? Even if you didn't, it's LL's fault for failing to properly maintain his property. He's claiming water damage, in a bathroom? What does he expect, it's a bathroom! Improper installation, lack of maintenance is the cause of the damage, and the sub-floor is probably rotton by now-maybe even the floor joists. When you're in court be sure to ask the judge for an inspection.
