do you have a copy of the lease from when you originally signed it 2.5 years ago? usually LLs have 2 copies of the lease so each party can keep one. if not, the LL can (and will) say anything she wants; there is no proof one way or another. which really sucks cuz you're being made to suffer just so her sale goes smoother. i hope you have a copy of the lease lying around somewhere. start digging for it and good luck.
