Moving in with the owner, or even marriage, does not give someone title to real estate. The owner of record has a deed which is recorded at the county at the time of purchase.

Of course, if the LL's wife hates you, she can just get her husband - the legal owner - to kick you out. So, it is in your best interest to stay on her good side, or at least avoid her.
