As I understand it, rent increase for this year was set to 4% for one year and 6% for two year. My landlord sent me a lease (several months ago) offering *no* rent change for one year and 6% for two year. That might've been his mistake, nevertheless I jumped on it and signed for one year. This month was when the new lease kicked in and my landlord is now asking for additional payment reflecting the 4% increase. My question is, can he do it? After all both of us signed a document, it was up to him to offer whenever price was legally permisiable. What should I do now?
