: I'm renting month to month right now in New York state. When I give 30-days notice, can it be done in the middle of the month to the middle of the next month? Or do I have to give notice at the first of the month?

minimum of 30 days prior to rent due date. notice now thru 9/30 is effective Nov 1, e.g.

read your lease (if you have one) clause AND the NY state law (in the RPL article 7 on Tenant.net)and follow both to the letter.
