I am currently subletting a NON-rent stabilized apartment in New York City, but recently found out that the prime tenant is charging us almost twice what his rent to the landlord. I read on this board that in rent-stabilized situations the prime tenant needs to refund/repay the subtenant, but is that also true for non-rent stabilized apartments? If so, how should I go about it?
