Rational Thought Needed

Why do you bother ? First of all nothing sounds illegal. Second of all even if it was, by definition you'd be forced to MOVE OUT and the landlord would have to close the apartment. So who would you rather have force you out - the court or the landlord?

You claim, "Obviously they aren't claiming their rent on their taxes." How do you know this? Have you seen their income tax return? The IRS is very harsh on tax cheats, but that's an IRS matter, between that agency and them, and has nothing to do with local housing.

Frankly I'm not surprised that you and the landlord don't get along. Maybe if you treat him or her with a little more respect, instead of making random accusations, you and him could work something out. If not you'll have to find a place elsewhere.
