That's still an Illegal Eviction and the landlord is liable for the damages/loss of your stuff. Read about it from the homepage on tenant.net. Usually, a tenant files an Order to Show Cause in Housing Court in an illegal eviction. But since you don't want to move back in, I'm not sure if you should just file a Small Claims suit, assuming the provable loss is less than $3000.

I suggest you print out the Illegal Eviction info and your post here and take it to either a tenant clinic or the pro se attorney at Housing Court. You might also call Met Council, tel# on tenant.net somewhere, tomorrow, Wed pm and ask them.
