Good question. When I signed my lease, I signed it around the same date. Is this your first lease? What does the lease say? From May 2001 to ____ or April 2001 to ____? Whatever month the lease says, your signature agrees and legally binds to that date the lease says. If, within the lease it specifically says gas and electric included and the LL isn't paying for it, I'd call the organization you worked with in order to apply for Section 8 and see what they say.

: I live in NYC in a section 8 housing unit in NY. When does my lease take effect the day I signed it (4-25-01) or the beginning of the month. Also In my lease my landlord agreed to pay my light and gas bills. What Can I do ?????????????
