I'm a rent stabilized tenant in New York and have been in housing court with my landlord for almost a year. Today the LL's attorney mentioned to the judge that's they've offered me a buy-out. I was surprised since I didn't think it was legal. If course he didn't mentioned my LL ofered to buy me out, on the installment plan, with payments to begin AFTER I move.
