The fire department should be more than precise about what you can and can't use on the balcony as well as what you can have or can't have or store or not store on the balcony.
I thought BBQing covered all aspects -- whether it's fire, wood, coal or electricity....but perhaps the fire department can fill in the precise blanks for you.
Good luck.
: I should have been more precise. This balcony is not actually a fire escape. Lawn furniture is permitted. So, would an electric grill be too since presumably it is not a fire hazard?
: thanks
: : I think that the balcony has to be cleared, period, of any obstructions, including cooking in any style shape or form on the balcony.
: : : Hi. I have been told that BBQing on one's balcony is illegal by fire code. My question is whether I would be able to use an electric grill (like a George Forman Grill) to cook outside? My landlord says no, but I though I would check rather than just taking his word for it.
: : : Thanks.
