You can check both the state Mitchell-Lama regulations (NYCRR) and the city Mitchell-Lama regulations (RCNY) at the Municipal Reference Library on Chambers Street in Manhattan.

They should be similar to the succession regulations for rent controlled and rent stabilized apartments. However, Mitchell-Lama residents have to fill out an annual income affidavit, listing the names and incomes of all the people living in the apartment. Your name would also have to appear on the affidavit for at least two consecutive years for you to take over your parents' apartment. And your income may make your parents subject to a surcharge of up to 50% of the basic rent/maintenance.
