You'll have to act like a blackmailer: tell him he can do it the hard way or the easy way:
The hard way is for him to refuse to return your security deposit; you'll contact the LL and provide LL with copy of your rental agreement with this person
- OR -
The easy way: He can return your security deposit in full, and you'll be on your merry way and won't contact the LL
