I'm confused. You mention all sorts of reasons why your building and housing situation has been less than adequate. Yet you want advice on how to get a roommate so you can stay there longer ???

Am I missing something ? Do you think that by signing a lease things will magically get better ? -- They won't, and you'd only be obligating yourself to live there longer.

Do yourself a favor and find another place to live. That way you can forget about all of the nonsense you bring up in your post and just focus on your life. Becuase if you choose to sign a lease where you are, knowing your situation there, you'd really have only yourself to blame for making such a bad housing decision.
