Broker Fee

Your assumptions are correct. Namely, I am here in NYC, no rent control. I paid my broker a commission when I originally signed lease (that commission was a joke..I found the apt. through a friend I work with. Just so happens the broker is in my bldg, getting a "piece of the action" from all apts, regardless of wheather they are responsible for "finding the apt.).

So, I will tell the broker lease renewal ain't happening.
