click on URL below
put cursor on "tax" option....... a box will appear with 3 options....select the middle option "Find Property Taxes by Address."
A new page will appear.......scroll down to the second section titled "Search by Address"........ select borough and
type in address of building (apt number unnecessary)...hit select......
the page that appears will give the following useful info: (1) name of owner; (2) the "BBL" for the building, save this number, it is used by the clerk's office to record deeds mortgages, etc. BBL: B= Borough ....B= Block and L= Lot....(3) might list "Rent Stabilization Charge - DOF" which indicates that the building is rent stabilized and the number of rent stabilized apartments in the building, as declared by the owner (1 rent stabilized apartment = $10.00 fee per apartment) (4) whether the owner is up to date on paying taxes and (5) the names of owners of neighboring buildings, with the BBL for each, so you can quickly research the same info for those buildings..... Good luck!
