If LL undertook substantial renovations to your apartment before you moved in, LL can tack 1/40th of the cost per month on top of the vacancy allowance and the 4 or 6%. Is your apartment newly renovated? New bath, new kitchen, new floors, electrical? Anything? Go to DHCR in person, Gertz Plaza, the address is on the DHCR web site. Bring ID and your lease.
