Well, upon my written request for information on where my security deposit money are deposited, my LL answered that since my appartment (in Queens)
is not under the Rent Stabilization or Rent Control laws he "has
no obligation other than to hold your rent security in escrow".

My understanding is that by law LL must give me the info on which
interest bearing bank account my security deposit is held in.
If he doesn't, that is enough proof that he didn't comply with the law, and I can take him to court.

In my case, LL's response is somewhat vague. He pretend to hold it
"in escrow". But I don't think I can trust that, not in New York anyway.

So, should I take him to court?

Thanks in advance,

Sergey
