: I live in a rent stabilized apartment in Manhattan - 6 floors, 32 units. My landlord has decided to replace the mailboxes. He will not, however, give any of us keys to our mailboxes without us first turning over keys to our apartments. Can he withhold the keys to our mailboxes - for any reason? Is that legal?
