WHERE ARE YOU ? In New York City the water bill is paid by the landlord, but in other areas it is different.

If you're outside NYC you really need to check and see what your lease says about this. You did ask the landlord about utilities before you rented, right ? What did he say ?


: I live in an old house that has been converted into 3 apartments (two, 2-bedrooms and one, 3-bedroom). The entire house has only one water meter, so 3 apartments are using the same water supply. The water bill is in our landlords name and sent to either his house or the rental office. He is trying to make us pay the water bill by just spliting it up between 7 people. Can he do this?
