as a matter of fact, yes, i was still going to do this. as per a phone conversation between me & my ll where she asked me to start looking for another apt., i then gave my 1 month notice to vacate and then within that month i received a termination letter. but what i dont understand is regardless of my month to month lease, she still rented to me under false pretenses, knowing that she was selling. an anyway, i spoke to 2 lawyers & they both told me that it is very possible that i can get my last 5 months rent back. so whatever the case, i will try. thanks

: well, if she had not asked you to move out, would you still be doing this? you might have a case if you had a year-long lease but as long as she gave you at least 30 days' notice, there's nothing you can do. that is the very soul of the month-to-month rental strategy, which is basically all the advantages are to the LL. if anybody should be going after the LL it should be the two realty companies, since he was basically duplicating a listing.
