Getting out of Lease Brooklyn Brownstone due to Medical Reason

Posted by John Park on May 24, 2001 at 21:39:22:

I have recently moved into an apartment (less than one month). I am suffering from servere allergies because the apartment does not have a sealed basement, which allows particles which provoke asthma attacks. My doctors has written me a letter certifying my condition, but the landlord responds only a lease is a lease. There are still 11 months on the lease, and I have no other options. What shall I do? HELP me please someone. I can't afford to rent two!
