You would be subject to a monthly rent increase of 1/40 of the cost of the improvements in your apartment -- not the 1/84 of your share of the cost of buildingwide improvements for an MCI.

: If that's the case, state the conditions in a letter to your LL along with your desire for a complete bathroom renovation and that you are willing to pay the MCI. If that doesn't work offer to pay part of the cost out of pocket.
