My landlord has not kept my security deposit in a separate account and has not been turning over interest to me. If I file a complaint and manage to get him to return the money, can he then demand a new security deposit? Can he demand a new deposit when I renew my lease? Or has he lost the right to a security deposit for as long as I am in my apartmnent?
