i have recently moved into an apartment in brooklyn. the landlord accepted a deposit and rent as well as a fee for offering the apartment but now will not write up a rental agreement or lease. am i on a month-to-month oral lease or can i be evicted at any time? what are my rights and what can i do to ensure my security as a tenant?
