Do you have a copy of your lease? Is this mentioned in your copy? Did you ever pay any water bills before? Have you called your local county office to find out about this issue?
: CAN A LANDLORD PUT IN THE LEASE THAT WE ARE CHARGED FOR WATER BILLS AT THE END OF OUR LEASE. JUST SO HE CAN KEEP OUR SECURITY DEPOSIT? I LIVE IN NEW YORK STATE AND, I LIVED IN THE SAME APT FOR THREE YEARS. WHEN I MOVED OUT MY LANDLORD IS TRYING TO CHARGE ME FOR UNPAID WATERBILLS WHICH HE SAYS IN THE LEASE HE HAS SAYS I HAVE TO PAY ALL THE BACK YEARS I WAS THERE WHEN I MOVE OUT . THE APT IS A 15 UNIT BUILDING WITH SOME ONE BEDROOMS AND SOME TWO BEDROOMS . HOW CAN HE TELL HOW MUCH WATER I SPECIFICALLY USED? ANY ADVISE YOU HAVE ON THIS IS VERY HELPFUL.
